The crankcase ventilation oil separator, or CVV, recirculates the small (but constant) amount of blow-by, created by gases leaking past the rings in the combustion chamber. Over time, the CVV valve can become clogged or even crack, causing oil leaks and oil to be pushed back and burnt in the combustion chamber. Replace yours with this inexpensive and high quality part.
We recommend ordering a complete set of hoses when working on the oil separator system. With age, the connectors become brittle or can prove difficult to remove, and the likelihood of them breaking is high.
