Description
The crankcase-ventilation oil separator, or CVV, recirculates the small — but continual — amount of blow-by, created by gases leaking past the rings in the combustion chamber. Over time, the CVV valve can become clogged or crack, causing oil leaks and oil to be pushed back and burnt in the combustion chamber — a less than ideal situation.
Helpful Tips
We recommend ordering a complete set of hoses when working on the oil separator system. With age, the connectors become brittle or can prove difficult to remove, and the likelihood of them breaking is high.
