Description
Due to the design of the front suspension on the E46 3 Series and E85/6 Z4, the control or caster arm bushings take a lot of abuse, and as a result they have a relatively short service life. If the bushes aren't replaced on time, they can put undue stress on the ball-joint within the control arm, making it a bigger job down the track. This replacement bushing kit from Febi-Bilstein is designed to match the original bushes in terms of ride and handling, as well as build quality. This set of two has been pre-pressed into new aluminium brackets and comes with all four bolts for easy installation.
Helpful Tips
If the bushes have worn out, there's a good chance the ball joints in the control arms have become loose, too. You may want to consider upgrading to one of the Front Control/Caster Arm Sets that include these bushes pre-installed (found at the bottom of this page).

Fast delivery as always. Initial order seemed to be OK after install but then started knocking at bumps and stopping ~3000kms. Contacted Lucas at clickable and sorted out a replacement to be shipped. Notice the difference from really worn originals at 160,000 kms that had lots of movement in them. They work well, except for some squeaking when driving down a steep driveway entrance (may have been the mechanics fault by not adding a little grease to them?) otherwise they work well and silently. The old bushes on my 2001 318i were very worn , resulting in noticable poor steering. Once the replacements were installed, the improvement in steering was very noticable. From other reviews, I believe the harder rubber should make these unit last much longer.

I was hitting the brakes and getting a little play in the front end before braking began. Bushings (doh!) I can't do that myself (Can't be bothered) Anyway, ordered the parts on Saturday. Put the address of my mechanic down and he called me in Tuesday morning to change the parts over. He was impressed by the replacement bushings, and in fairness was more impressed by the price, his best find was about 30% more expensive. Just had the Meyle HD caster bushes fitted to my 2003 325ci. The car now steers, brakes and drives like new, without any kick back through the steering wheel, unlike the nothalane ones I had fitted my previous 330i. The total cost was $179. Had 3 other quotes starting at $500 from European car repairers. My mechanic took 45 minutes to do the job. Parts delivered to Perth in 3 days. Awesome service.
