I was getting slight vibration which was found to be coming from the front end bushing. I swapped it out with these arms and its fine now, although while the drivers side went on easy I had a lot of trouble getting the passenger side on. Not sure why, but now that its on and aligned the car drives well again (Posted on 9/12/2017)

These lower control arms were better than I expected.
Very well packaged and for $10.00 excellent value for money (as usual) Always fast delivery, turned up in less than a week from paying for them.
As usual though, having a BMW, having a hoist would be great for jobs like these. Are you listening Honey?

Well after installing these castor arms, the handling difference was amazing! No more tramlining and no more clunks when braking hard! Getting the old ones off was the biggest challenge in the whole exercise and I strongly urge anyone planning on fitting these to invest in a good ball joint separator, preferably the screw in type. I used a "pickle fork" style separator and just could not budge the joint on the RHS wheel hub assembly. Problem is that the shock absorber takes a lot of energy out to the wallop from the hammer and in my case was insufficient to separate. In the end, I took the whole disk assembly off the car and put it on the garage floor. Three healthy strikes and it was apart. RHS took me 6 hours. LHS took less than 90 mins as it was not as stuck.

These units are beautifully engineered and fit perfectly. Having the bushes pre-pressed onto the end made it so much easier to fit as I have seen people struggle on youtube videos to push them on. One note: the nut on the chassis joint is a 22mm whereas the one I removed was a 21mm so make sure you have a full spanner set available.

Overall a successfull DIY and one I have to repeat on our other E46. (Posted on 1/08/2015)
