This adjusting pulley keeps the correct amount of pressure on the timing belt, ensuring the valves open and close at the correct point during the engine cycle. This pulley located half-way up the timing belt on the left, creating a triangle effect. Manufactured by INA, an original equipment supplier to BMW, and repackaged by IPD Germany.
Helpful tips
This pulley is also available in a timing belt kit that includes everything needed for the job (found at the bottom of this page). The timing belt and associated parts should be replaced at 100,000 kilometres at a maximum.
