DESCRIPTION
This hydraulic tensioner ensures that the accessories drive belt has enough traction for the air conditioning compressor to operate, but over time the internal piston seals can wear out and reduce belt tension. This tensioner is manufactured by INA, an original equipment supplier to BMW.
HELPFUL TIPS
It's a good idea to replace the accessories drive belt and pulley at the same time as the tensioner.
