After many years of use, the rubber in the rear shock mounts of E39 estates can degrade and wear out, reducing ride comfort, handling, and braking performance, as well as creating some strange noises. We recommend replacing the rear shock mounts whenever changing the rear shock absorbers, as part of good preventative maintenance. This replacement mount comes from Germany's Febi-Bilstein.
