This pulley helps keep the main drive belt straight and true, helping to ensure traction with the water pump and alternator. Over time these pulleys can degrade and crack, leading to a failure of the cooling and electrical systems. This deflector pulley fits at the 5 o'clock position in the belt run. Manufactured by INA, an original equipment supplier to BMW, and repackaged by IPD.
