DESCRIPTION

Over time, your radiator can have its core damaged by stones and bugs, reducing the efficiency of the cooling system and causing leaks. Due to the high temperatures and pressures that the system endures, the plastic tanks and fittings on your radiator can also become quite brittle and crack, putting your engine at risk of overheating. Radiators should be replaced every few years as part of a good preventative maintenance schedule. Manufactured by original equipment supplier NRF. Includes both manual and automatic transmission adjustment screws. 

Please be aware that due to the fragility of radiators, there is often minor fin damage that occurs during the manufacturing process. In most cases, bent fins are unavoidable and will not affect the performance of the radiator. If you have any concerns with your replacement radiator, we encourage you to get in contact with us.

HELPFUL TIPS

Make sure you have plenty of coolant on hand before starting the job. The cooling system for the E46 3 Series needs 6L for the four cylinder motors, and 8.4L for the six cylinder motors.

2002 BMW E46 320i Touring

Blew the expansion tank in Nov 2023 and needed to fix the problem before registering the car 2 days later. Lucas was great in getting parts sent out the next day so I could get it sorted and that was much appreciated.

This radiator was a direct replacement and fit together without issues. I replaced everything else as well (except pump and thermostat...recently replaced by previous owner) and the car has been running fine since 15 Nov 2023. During the month of Dec and Jan, I monitored the temps using a scanner tool and everything looked okay, paying more attention on the hotter days while stuck in traffic.

Been driving it as a daily and have done 12,000km without issues so far since overhaul.

First disappointing item after many years of being a very satisfied Clickable Auto customer.

The radiator fits, that's no problem. The main problem is this is very much an inferior quality parts vs the original BMW radiatior. The density of the cooling fine is probably ~50-60% of the original radiatior. The first give away was the weight comparing the original radiatior I just took out (dry, no coolant left inside) and the new radiator from Clickable, The weight was roughly 30-40% lighter than the original... Then I looked more closely and indeed there are roughly half or a third less aluminium cooling fins/folds vs the original part. That means that from the start, the new radiator will have inferior cooling performance vs the BMW part. We're still in winter so it's not a problem but I'll have to be very careful with my temp gauge when the hotter days come.

Not particularly happy with my purchase, the price was very good but quality not what Clickable has gotten me used to. I'd rather have paid a bit more for a quality part.
