This little coolant flange connects the expansion tank to the radiator. Made from plastic, after many years these can degrade, causing cracks and coolant leaks. We recommend replacing this little flange whenever replacing the expansion tank, along with the expansion tank base and radiator for complete peace-of-mind. From Febi Bilstein.
