DESCRIPTION

Extend the life of your transmission and improve performance and shifting by replacing this filter when performing transmission fluid service. Made in Germany by Febi-Bilstein, this comes complete as a kit and includes a new sealing gasket and bolts. 

Please note, BMW used several transmissions around these dates. This filter kit is only suitable for automatic gearbox A5S360R/390R, manufactured by GM. We highly recommend checking for the code on the transmission before ordering, or looking for the GM stamp on the side of the transmission case. 

HELPFUL TIPS
Be sure to have enough automatic transmission fluid on hand prior to starting the job. We use and recommend Motul.

BMW say the Automatic transmission is "filled for life". What an ominous and self-fulfilling statement.

The clutch packs wear down in normal usage, so with heat,age and worn material it makes sense to change the fluid every 80,000 km or so. There is no drain plug, and it makes sense to change the filter and check the magnet for debris anyway.
This kit is "unpacked" and arrives as per the picture above - complete with new fasteners though. Just remember to get the correct ATF fluid (from Clickable !). Fill when at correct temperature.
