The oil filter housing gasket a common place for oil leaks to develop. Over many years of engine heat cycles the gaskets can degrade and shrink, losing their seal. Replace yours when you next change your oil filter. From OEM supplier of gaskets to BMW, Elring.

HELPFUL TIPS

Don't forget to grab the oil cooler gasket too, that attaches to the side of the oil filter housing. Found at the bottom of this page.
