This coolant expansion tank base / mounting plate is the structural support bracket that secures the coolant expansion tank to the radiator support on BMW E46 3 Series models - for models equipped with a manual or SMG transmission. The expansion tank and its mounting plate are both made of plastic, and over time they can become brittle, crack, or break due to heat cycles, vibration, and age. This genuine-style mounting plate is a direct replacement for the factory bracket and restores proper alignment and support for the expansion tank.
