DESCRIPTION
When you’re pulling the intake manifold on a modern VW or Audi 1.8 TSI / 2.0 TSI / TFSI engine – whether it’s for a water pump replacement, intake port de-carboning, or other common repairs – it’s good practice to replace the intake manifold gasket at the same time.
This Elring intake manifold gasket is a direct-fit, OE-quality replacement for the original single-use gasket fitted from the factory. Once compressed and heat-cycled, the old gasket can’t reliably reseal. Re-using it risks unmetered air leaks, rough idle, fuel trim faults and annoying check-engine lights – especially on tuned or hard-driven cars.
Elring is a leading OEM gasket supplier to European manufacturers, and this gasket is built to handle the thermal load and boost pressures of the EA888-series turbocharged engines. The precision moulded sealing profile ensures an airtight seal between the intake manifold and cylinder head, helping to maintain stable idle, proper fuel trims and consistent performance.
This gasket is highly recommended whenever the intake manifold is removed, including jobs such as:
-
Water pump and thermostat housing replacement
-
Intake valve / port carbon cleaning
-
Intake manifold or tumble flap repairs
-
Injector or fuel rail work requiring manifold removal
Suitable for a wide range of Volkswagen and Audi models listed in the fitment guide, including Golf GTI & R, Polo GTI, Tiguan, Passat, Arteon, A3, S3, TT, Q2, Q3, Q5 and others with 1.8 TSI / 1.8 TFSI and 2.0 TSI / 2.0 TFSI engines.
HELPFUL TIPS
When removing the intake manifold, a long 1/4-inch drive extension is recommended, as anything thicker often will not fit through the intake manifold to access the mounting bolts.PART NUMBERS
