Description

The Valvetronic system on BMW engines uses an electric actuator and camshaft adjuster to vary valve lift — improving efficiency and performance. Over time, the gasket between the adjuster unit and the cylinder head can harden or leak, leading to oil seepage near the top of the engine. We typically like to replace this gasket anytime we're servicing the Valvetronic motor, replacing the rocker cover gasket, or addressing oil leaks from the cylinder head area.
