DESCRIPTION

This hose connects from the oil separator to the valve/rocker cover. An unfortunate and ongoing issue with modern BMWs is with the oil separator, or CVV system. Over time, the oil vapours the system that is designed to capture and recirculate can cause clogged lines and other blockages, resulting in oil leaks or reduced engine performance. We offer this replacement hose from Febi Bilstein - a trusted German brand.

HELPFUL TIPS

We recommend ordering a complete set of hoses when working on the oil separator system. With age, the connectors become brittle or can prove difficult to remove, and the likelihood of them breaking is high.

Purchased this along with all of the other CCV components. Everything fitted up quite nicely, however to make this specific hose fit even better, apply some heat to the flexible ribbed portion of the hose (on both ends) before connecting them up. This helped to make sure everything went in square, reducing damage to the O-rings. Apply some dielectric grease or oil to the O-rings before you push it in, this further reduces damages to the O-rings.

It's been 12,000km and I have had no issues and no leaks.

Please note that the hose will clip on fine without the heat. I did that the first time but then had to take it back out for other reasons and noticed that with a bit of heat, it allowed the hose to sit better.

You need this hose

If these have never been touched in your vehicle, buy a completely new set before removing any of the plastic parts. As soon as you squeeze the clips they will break when old and brittle. A nice new set stops any air entering the intake system as well unmetered.
