DESCRIPTION
We’ve used these rear brake pads — and loved them — on our own Mk5 Golf R32. Whether you’re driving a GTI, TT RS, or S3, these Zimmermann pads deliver the kind of confident, consistent braking that feels right at home on fast street cars and properly maintained daily drivers alike.
Zimmermann’s compound is well-balanced for road use, offering strong braking performance with excellent pedal progression and a quiet, refined feel. Even when pushed, they hold up without fade, noise, or uneven bite — something we specifically appreciated in our R32, where rear braking feel plays a big role in overall balance.
These aren’t overly aggressive pads, and that’s part of what makes them great for fast road use. They bring the car to a stop quickly, with reassuring pedal feedback, while resisting the vibration, glazing, or rotor wear issues common with budget options. Dust levels are moderate — noticeably better than OE pads — but the real highlight is how stable they feel across a wide range of conditions.
Manufactured in the EU to exacting standards, Zimmermann pads include:
-
OE-style backing plates to reduce vibration
-
Chamfered pad edges for quiet engagement
- Caliper clips and bolts
We’ve tested other brands, but keep coming back to Zimmermann for everyday performance. They simply work — and for cars like the Mk6 GTI or Audi S3 8P, that’s exactly what you want from your rear brakes.
