For those wanting more, the Bilstein B6 has been designed for high performance driving scenarios. Standard shock absorbers become spongy when they’re worked hard, as the hydraulic fluid turns into an oily foam. The Bilstein B6 uses a mono-tube design that maximises the performance of the shock, maintaining a predictable and precise connection with the road under trying conditions, and making the original shocks look and feel like antiques. The Bilstein B6s are direct-replacement shock absorbers providing increased longevity, and come complete with dust boot and internal bump stop. 

All variants of the E30 were released with both 46mm and 51mm strut housings, with no strict rules as to which models came out with which. Unfortunately we’re unable to determine which struts your E30 has from your VIN. We strongly advise all customers to measure the diameter of the strut before ordering. A simple way of finding out whether you have 46mm or 51mm suspension on your E30 is by placing a piece of string around the strut tube and then measuring the string. HELPFUL TIPS

You will need an adjustable hook spanner for installation of the front struts on your E30, which can be purchased from most tool shops.
