Description

Originally designed for the E30, the shock mounts are the weakest point on the rear suspension for the E36, and E46, and Z3. After two decades and five redesigns, it’s only a matter of time before the factory mounts on your BMW fail. Odd noises such and metal-to-metal banging or clanking could be a sign of failed shock mounts. We strongly recommend replacing these when installing new shock absorbers or during any suspension work where you have easy access to the rear mounts as part of good preventative maintenance. We offer these replacement shock mounts from Febi complete with gasket. 

Helpful tips

With a tendency to fail, the rear shock mounts should be replaced anytime the shocks are either being replaced or upgraded. Likewise, if you're replacing your rear shock mounts, consider replacing your rear shocks at the same time. Most shock absorbers are ineffective after many years of service, and replacement can improve ride, handling, and the braking performance of your BMW.
