Over time, your radiator can have its core damaged by stones and bugs, reducing the efficiency of the cooling system and causing leaks. Due to the high temperatures and pressures that the system endures, the plastic tanks and fittings on your radiator can also become quite brittle and crack, putting your engine at risk of overheating. Radiators should be replaced every few years as part of a good preventative maintenance schedule. Please be aware that due to the fragility of radiators, there is often minor fin damage that occurs during the manufacturing process.
